  • PARISH DISCERNMENT ON CHURCHThe spirit of these two mornings is that of prayerful discernment.  We will try to listen and learn together.  The presenter is Rev Dr Stephen Hackett who chairs the National Liturgical Art and Architecture Board.  He is the best person in the country to help us identify the issues.  Facilitator for the two days will be Elizabeth Harrington, education officer of the Liturgical Commission in the diocese.  We want to hear what you think and talk things over together.  Please make this a priority:  SUNDAY 6 MAY and SUNDAY 20 MAY beginning at 9:30am after a cuppa and concluding at noon with a sausage sizzle (BYO drinks).  Child minding in the Parish Hall.  Sessions in the new Good Samaritan Hall.

Come and celebrate life in our community

Nestled in the crook of the Brisbane River, the Catholic Parish of Sts Peter and Paul covers the suburbs of Bulimba, Balmoral, Hawthorne and parts of Morningside and Norman Park. Beautiful as the geographical area is, however, the parish is actually made up of the Catholic people who live here.

This vibrant community includes the hundred babies baptised each year and the five hundred children in the parish school together with their parents and families.

It includes young people in high school, at university and in the workforce, as well as a solid core of parishioners who have lived in the area for many decades.

Diverse, faith-filled and working together in hope of God’s kingdom – this is the parish of Sts Peter and Paul.

    Welcome Message from
    Tom Elich Parish Priest

On behalf of the parish community, welcome! If you live in this area, you are very lucky because you can come to see us, take part in our weekly celebration of the Eucharist, and enjoy the wonderful sense of friendship and belonging which is typical of the parish of Sts Peter and Paul.

If you are new to the area, I hope you will find here all the information about the parish you need to get started. We are eager to welcome you to take part in the various activities and ministries of the parish.

If you live in other parts of Australia or in another country, I hope this website will inspire you by letting you see something of an active and joyful Catholic parish. For me it is a privilege to minister in this community.

May God bless you as you explore these pages.
